FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - The Allen County SPCA is cautioning people from giving pets as Christmas gifts.

SPCA officials suggest giving animal lovers a Golden Ticket, which serves as a gift certificate to purchase the just the right animal for them.

"It's a great gift to give to the person who has everything," Jessica Henry, executive director of the Allen County SPCA said. "The adopters are surprised when they find out that animal's adoption fee has already been paid for."

Golden Tickets run $70 for cats and $85 for dogs, and have no expiration dates. They can be purchased from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
