Elks Hoop Shoot
At Madison, Annual Elks Hoop Shoot sponsored by the Skowhegan-Madison Lodge, Sunday, Jan. 6, Madison Memorial High School. Registration starts at 11:30 a.m., first contest starts at noon. Open to boys and girls ages 8 to 13, with two divisions. Winners will be determined by the number of successful free throws out of 25 attempts. At Bangor, Bangor Parks and Recreation Department accepting registrations for Ski and Snowboard lessons at Hermon Mountain. Session 1 runs 4:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Jan. 8-19. Session 2 runs 4:30-6:30 p.m. Feb. 5-March 5. Each session offers four one-hour lessons and up to an hour of free ski time. Transportation to and from the mountain is the responsibility of the participant. The cost is $75 Bangor residents, $85 others per session.
