Oklahoma

Record: 11-2

Looking ahead: The 10th-ranked Sooners head to Los Angeles this weekend to face USC, No. 12 UCLA and No. 22 Notre Dame. The road trip precedes a 10-game homestand that starts Tuesday against New Mexico State.

Looking back: OU has lost two of three games after winning its opening 10 contests. The most recent was a 6-1 decision at UT Arlington on Tuesday. The Sooners did claim a series victory over visiting Pepperdine last weekend.

Notable: LHP Dillon Overton entered the week with a nation's-best four victories this season. He has a 2.86 ERA ... IF Matt Oberste continues to be steady on offense with a .438 batting average. His 19 RBIs account for 26 percent of the Sooners' overall total ... Max White (.327), Jack Mayfield (.302) and Hector Lorenzana (.300) are also everyday players hitting .300 or higher.

Oklahoma State

Record: 10-2

Looking ahead: The homestand continues as the Cowboys entertain Loyola Marymount on Friday (6:30 p.m.), Saturday (3 p.m.) and Sunday (noon). Pacific visits Stillwater on Tuesday.

Looking back: The Cowboys won three of four games last week, including a series triumph over UC Davis and a 10-inning, 5-4 victory against Missouri State on Tuesday.

Notable: OSU entered the national rankings in College Baseball Newspaper (No. 26) and the NCBWA (27) this week ... 1B Tanner Krietemeier's .413 batting average ranks seventh in the Big 12 ... C Victor Romero is hitting .417 with two HRs and nine RBIs in his last seven games ... The Cowboys entered the week seventh in the NCAA with 11 HRs.

Oral Roberts

Record: 5-6

Looking ahead: Oral Roberts will host Dallas Baptist at 6:30 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. The Golden Eagles then will travel to Texas for a Tuesday game (6:05 p.m.).

Looking back: ORU took two of three games at Southeast Missouri State before dropping an 8-1 decision at Wichita State on Tuesday.

Notable: All-American candidate Drew Bowen (RHP) got his first start at SEMO, throwing two hitless innings. He's scheduled to start on Saturday ... 3B/C Jose Trevino had his 39-game on-base streak snapped at SEMO last weekend ... RHP Alex Gonzalez is 1-2 with a 1.23 ERA. He has 24 strikeouts in 22 IP.
